I love this specific Arlan's. The employees are nice, it's clean, they have good meat deals, and they carry some of Uwe's bread. It's a perfect little spot to go to pick up some groceries when you don't feel like going into a big store.

I was house sitting for my father in law in New Braunfels and my daughter and I needed a few provisions. I was looking for a small grocery store since I didn't have to go to HEB or WalMart. I live in Blanco, so I was hoping for a small place just to get some housesitting provisions diet soda, frozen pizza, and some chips. I pleasantly found Arlan's Market. I loved the art deco style store, and when I walked in it transported me to the old stores i would go to with my Abuela. I was pleasantly surprised with all the offers and choices. I loved the meat market and the choices of all the different snacks, but we found the deli and were amazed. The store felt like I had been going there for years. The employees were nice and attentive. I couldn't stop raving about it. My father in law started going there since and he loves the meat packs and all the choices there. It reminds him of the small grocery stores in New England. If you are in the area I definitely stopping by for a quick bite and an outstanding shopping experience. We definitely got some mexican pastries on our way out.

This is a small grocery store that brings back to memories of the old stores growing up. They have great meat specials, and some of the friendless people working there. Granted produce is not always top notch, but Monday forces you to buy it. They have a very wide variety of Mexican spices which I really like, and carry local produced items. The deli is fantastic with great breakfast tacos, fantastic lunches, and the best fried chicken around. If I can get it at Arlan's I would rather support them and places like Granzins then go to a big chain store, where customer service with a smile seems to hard to come by!

If there is something I can only find at HEB or Walmart, then I will go there. But if I want to actually enjoy my shopping experience, then I go to Arlans. Arlans has most everything I need. They play good 50s Rock'N'Roll music on their PA. And I don't need to catch a tram in from the parking lot and forget in which row I parked. There is something satisfying about small local market shopping. Give Arlans a try.

This is a shout-out to Mary in the deli department at Arlan's. She makes, without a doubt, the best fried chicken in the city, better than any chain and as good as I've had anywhere! I asked Mary her secret and she mentioned two things. First, she filters the oil every three batches. That keeps burnt pieces from building up and creating an acrid flavor in the oil. She says management has tried to stop her from doing this but she sticks to her tried and true frequency. It works! So guys, let her do it her way! Second, Mary says she does it with love. "I believe you can taste the love in my chicken." And you can. It doesn't hurt that the pieces are huge, way bigger than you'd get at KFC or Church's. And if you call ahead, Mary will fry you up a fresh batch. Even if it sits an hour or so, I've never found it to be dried out. Always perfect! Mary is there Monday through Friday, daytime.

Nice "old style" grocery market. Small but with all essentials. I was impressed with the quality and price of their meats. Also a good selection of sausages. Their employees are courteous and helpful. Much better than a giant chain in my opinion.
